PATHOLOGY / LABORATORY SERVICES
Pathology Laboratory at Sushruta Trauma Centre provides 24 hr. services for Emergency Lab investigations. These includes haematological investigations as Haemoglobin, total leucocytic count, platelet count, haematocrit, absolute eosinophil count, peripheral smear examination, ESR, bleeding time, clotting time, serology for malarial parasite and biochemical investigations as blood sugar-random, fasting and post prandial, blood urea, serum createnine, serum electrolyte, ABG analysis, bilirubin-total, direct, indirect, SGOT,SGPT, urine examination and fluid examination.
ECG services are being provided at STC round the clock.
BLOOD BANK SERVICES
Blood Bank at Sushruta Trauma Centre was started in 2001 with License from Drug Control Authority. At present it is working as a 24 hr. Blood Bank.

- Senior Resident Doctors from each department available in the casualty/emergency duty round the clock and specialists are on call as and when required.
- One Casualty Medical Officer available 24 hrs along with 2 junior residents.

Disposal of biomedical waste
The hospital follows the norms laid down by the Delhi Pollution control Committee regarding management of Bio Medical Waste. The hospital is equipped with Autoclave and Shredder for Bio Medical Waste Management.

There are provision for cold storage of dead bodies.
Centralised Medical Gas Supply
There is Centralized Medical Gases and suction System for all O.T ,I.C.U., Casualty and Emergency and all wards.

Preparedness for disaster is a dynamic process, in addition to having a well documented DMP in place, it is prudent to have regular drills to test the Hospital’s DMP.
